Visitors - A Good Thing

Renee, Jeff, and Kendall came down tonight. After hearing that I'm most likely here until Saturday, it was a great pick-me-up. That Kendall is quite the card sharp and Uno is her game. I'll be looking for a rematch soon! As Sarah told me, I should have plenty of time to practice.

What we also learned from this visit is that the cafeteria upstairs closes at 5. So, if you get off work and then make the 1.5 hour trek to Allentown, there isn't a restaurant available to you when you get here. Little did I know that this would work to my advantage. The lack of a restaurant forced them to head for McDonald's and guess who was the reipient of a great big icy cold Diet Coke? MMMMmmmmmm, it doesn't get any better than that.

Hang in there!! Take every advantage of being where you can press the buzzer for help! Staying until Saturday is a good thing.

Hi Donna,
I'll try this again. Never replied to a blog!!! I have read your blogs each day keeping tabs on you. Sounds like you are making progress. Don't get discouraged - it just takes time. Something we all have trouble doing (taking time) Just keep in mind the end result - no pain! Hang in there. See you in July. Sandy

Yes, somehow I don't think Brent or Jayne will like me ringing a buzzer for them to come wait on me! LOL!

Hey Sandy, you did just great responding to my blog! Thanks for reading and keeping track of my progress. You're right, we live in a world of immediate gratification, and this just isn't going quite as quickly or as well as I had hoped. I am remaining pretty positive and that mostly is because of everyone writing me encouraging notes like yours.

I hope I feel up to sketching Austria when I get home. So far, I haven't felt like doing much. I haven't read even one page of a book yet - while wonderful in many ways, the narcotics do not enhance reading ability. I look at letters and cannot for the life of me figure out what the word is. But one way or another, I'll be there to scrap in July!
